Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Women jailed for suspicion of felony meth possession
A pair of Carson city women were arrested Friday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of Woodside Drive for felony possession of methamphetamine, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
Jennifer Carwile and Tanya Windsor, both 40, were taken into custody following a traffic stop of their vehicle by a sheriff's deputy, who pulled their car over for failing to obey the white line at a stop sign.
According to the arrest report, the front passenger had turned around to regard the patrol vehicle multiple times prior to the stop and both occupants had opened their doors before coming to a complete stop in a parking lot.
Both women were identified and dispatch advised that the driver, Carwile, had been cited earlier in the day for hit and run. Windsor reported an arrest history for drug paraphernalia and assault, the report said.
Carwile reported to the deputy that Windsor had a history of methamphetamine use, according to the arrest report.
A K-9 unit was called in to perform an exterior sniff of the suspects' vehicle, the report said, and the procedure yielded a positive alert.
The interior of the vehicle and its contents were then subsequently searched, finding inside of a black pouch a glass pipe featuring white crystal-type powder on it, as well as a small plastic container of pills in a purse. The pills were found to be prescription opioids, according to the report.
Windsor was detained and began to yell at Carwile, who admitted that she had taken a hit of meth 10 minutes earlier, the report said.
Both women waived their Miranda rights and spoke with deputies, the report said.
Carwile said the prescription pills found in her belongings were given to her by her grandfather who lived in Arizona, and that she did not know what the pills were. She also said the pouch found in the search contained meth.
Windsor also admitted to having used drugs that day, but denied ownership of the contents found during the search, the arrest report states.
Both women were handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail, where Carwile had failed field sobriety testing. It was also learned that Carwile was an ex-felon who spent time in prison for assault. She was required to register in Nevada, but had not.
Carwile was booked on felony meth and gross misdemeanor prescription drug possession without a prescription, as well as first offense driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs and failing to register as an ex-felon. Bail: $2,500
Windsor was booked on felony meth possession as well as for misdemeanor paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.

According to the arrest report, a sheriff's deputy pulled over a couple on a bicycle riding at night without a head lamp. Both subjects identified themselves.
Dispatch confirmed that the woman, Leah Seward, had an outstanding failure to appear arrest warrant issued out of the Carson City Justice Court, the report said.
The female suspect was handcuffed and her purse was searched, the report said. Found in the purse was a small, round plastic container with a crystallized substance inside of it. The substance was recognized to be methamphetamine.
Seward was transported to the Carson City Jail and booked on felony meth possession as well as the outstanding arrest warrant. Bail: $2,500.

According to the report, sheriff's deputies were called to area on report of a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies identified the suspect vehicle, which had reportedly been parked on the premises of a business for a half hour with nobody exiting or entering the vehicle, the report said.
The vehicle's lights were on when deputies arrived, the report said, and its engine was running.
Attempting to make contact with the driver, who was the sole occupant, deputies noted the suspect appeared to be asleep. After deputies knocked on the driver side window multiple times, the suspect appeared to awaken. He unlocked his door and opened it for deputies, the report said.
A strong odor of alcohol was smelled on the suspect's breath as he talked with deputies, the report said. His eyes were also red and watery. He admitted to having drank several beers earlier.
The suspect consent to field sobriety testing, which showed signs of impairment, and a preliminary breath test (PBT) showed breath alcohol content (BAC) at .194 percent, the report said.
A records check showed a prior conviction for DUI out of Douglas County as well as a suspended driver's license and a confirmed bench warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court for failure to appear.
