The Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Nevada Division of Investigations announced Wednesday a $2,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person(s) responsible for placing and igniting an incendiary device next to a private residence belonging to Justice of the Peace, John Tatro.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, Carson City sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for service and discovered the partially burned remains of an incendiary device which had been placed adjacent to the garage area of Judge Tatro’s residence.
Subsequent investigation disclosed that unidentified person(s) placed a device next to the garage and ignited it on May 13th at around hours. The device burned for a period of time before going out. The residence was not damaged and nobody was hurt.
Nearby surveillance equipment captured the image of a light colored sedan driving in the area shortly before and after the incident. A photograph of that person(s) and vehicle are being released in an effort to help identify potential witnesses or involved persons.
