Associated Students of Western Nevada welcomes back students with fun activities
The Associated Students of Western Nevada (ASWN) began welcoming back its student body for Fall 2018 on Thursday, Aug. 30 with a barbecue introducing new Western Nevada College President, Dr. Vincent Solis.
That event featured lawn games, a speed sketch artist, water slides, bounce houses and college faculty or staff soaking in the Rotary Plaza.
Free food, a football party, and supernatural activities are just some of the events students are invited to participate in during the first two weeks of Fall classes.
These planned activities to help students make new friends, learn about the campus and become involved in clubs that interest them.
Next up on the WNC Carson City campus is Mystic Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring henna artists in Rotary Plaza, tarot and palm readings/history lesson in Dini Game Room, and stone bracelet craft activity in Student Center lobby.
Thursday, Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. will be Time for Kickoff, a football party featuring the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL season opener from Dini Game Room. Nachos, Red Vines, potato chips and drinks will be served.
On the WNC Fallon Campus, Wildcat Wednesday will take place Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature lawn games, photo booth and sub sandwiches at Piñon Plaza.
