McFadden Plaza to host music fundraiser for Alzheimer's research
A concert featuring several Northern Nevada musicians will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 9 p.m. on Bob McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
The fourth annual Musical Fundraiser for Alzheimer's Research will feature musical artists from Carson City, Reno, Dayton, Round Mountain, Silver Springs, Yerington and Virginia City.
Musicians include Canyon White, C.W. Bayer and Dr. Spitmore, Makayla Taylor, A to Zen Giants, Raphella Bell, Harmony Pines, Keith Alan Barnett, Mike White, Tomma, Donna Mae Crowell, Vista, Hill Country West as well as Earl J. Dutton, who is the event organizer.
Dutton said Alzheimer's Disease has impacted his life, and research to find a cure for the condition is a personal endeavor for him.
"I lost my wife of 56 and a half years after taking full care of her at home for eight years," he said. "When we were young, I had told her I would never put her in a home."
Dutton said a $20 is being asked per person at the fundraiser to go toward Alzheimer's research.
A raffle will also be held during the event.
