Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Woman jailed on felony and misdemeanor drug charges

A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday in the area of Stanton and Fairview streets on a felony drug charge and six misdemeanors after deputies found methamphetamine and paraphernalia in her purse, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Heather Renee Moeller was taken into custody at 11:27 p.m. According to the arrest report, a deputy was patrolling the area of Stanton and Ladera when he checked on the registration of a vehicle that came back suspended through DMV.

The officer initiated a traffic stop. Moeller advised she did not have a current insurance document in the vehicle and does not have a valid license, the arrest report states. Dispatch advised there was a warrant issued for her arrest through Carson City Justice Court on a charge of criminal contempt. She was placed into custody.

During a vehicle inventory, deputies located a purse on the passenger floorboard with numerous drug items, including a pipe with methamphetamine residue. Also located were numerous pieces of tin foil and a “tooter straw” commonly used to inhale heroin. In two different baggies officers found suspected methamphetamine. Moeller was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak. She confirmed the drugs and paraphernalia were hers and that her fingerprints would be on the pipe, the arrest report states.

She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of two counts drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license, no valid insurance, driving on a suspended registration and the criminal contempt warrant. Bail: $6,940.

The driver advised he was divorcing his wife and she had removed the insurance from the vehicle and then reinstated the insurance the next day. He said he did not have current information in the vehicle.

The deputy ran a check through dispatch for wants and warrants which came back with a clear status. He was asked if he would submit to field sobriety tests.
