Carson City deputies make three DUI arrests overnight
A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, August 27, 12:49 a.m. in the 600 block of West Spear Street on a misdemeanor charge of DUI, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a reporting witness observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Carson Street without headlights and had struck several curbs in a fast food restaurant drive-thru.
Officers stopped the vehicle on West Spear Street and made contact with the driver, who smelled of alcoholic beverage and had red eyes. On the passenger’s seat was a bottle of brandy. The officer asked the man how much alcohol he had consumed and the man replied a lot recently, the arrest report states.
He answered questions and admitted to consuming two drinks of whiskey. He refused to submit to a horizontal vision test but submitted to other tests and failed. He submitted to a partial breath test with results of .149. He was taken into custody. At jail he refused to submit to either a blood or breath test under Nevada Implied Consent and asked for an attorney.
A search warrant was approved to authorize blood samples and a phlebotomist responded to the jail. He was charged with DUI first, alcohol no disposition on a previous DUI arrest in 2008, the arrest report states. Bail: $1,137.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 12:22 a.m. in the 2800 block of Airport Road on misdemeanor charges of DUI and Due Care. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a crash where a vehicle hit a mobile home. A neighbor stated he observed the man driving and hitting multiple objects in the mobile home park including a mobile home, a fence and a parked truck. The neighbor reached in the vehicle and turned it off so the suspect could not drive off, according to the arrest report.
Officers made contact with the man who smelled of alcohol and was visibly having a hard time standing.
