Carson City man jailed after allegedly entering apartment, punching father and son
A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspected child abuse of a minor under 18, burglary and misdemeanor battery, a Carson City sheriff's report states.
David Anthony Salazar was taken into custody at 7:40 p.m. at a parking lot near where the incident took place at 20 College Parkway.
According to the arrest report, Carson City deputies responded to the area after dispatch advised they could hear a female caller screaming that she was battered and to hurry as there may be a knife involved.
Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the victims, including the father who stated he was asleep on the couch when the suspect, David Salazar, entered the home and punched his son, a 13-year-old.
Further investigation had that there was a 9-month old baby in the room that the victims were attempting to protect from the suspect. The suspect, it was learned during interviews with the victims, was hit with a "flurry" before he fled the scene, leaving a blood trail behind, according to the arrest report.
The suspect, who was bloodied, was located nearby and was found to be in possession of pliers. He was taken into custody and mirandized, in which he stated he was injured while doing a bunny hop on his bike, hitting his nose and cutting his knee.
The suspect was booked into Carson City Jail for suspicion of burglary for allegedly entering the apartment to commit a battery, child abuse (battery on a minor, age 13) and battery on a victim, the father. Bail: $40,000.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man, Jarrard Jacob, an inmate at Carson City Jail was booked Monday for suspicion of battery by a prisoner and battery with substantial bodily harm, a sheriff's booking report states.
According to the arrest report, the incident involved two inmates who had an altercation during breakfast in which a chair was thrown at an inmate, followed by punches that were thrown by an inmate. The injured inmate was taken to the hospital. Bail: $20,000.
— A 27-year-old Reno woman, Lynsie Kae Garcia, was placed into custody Monday at Carson City Jail for a felony warrant alleging embezzlement. Bail: $20,000.
