Carson City deputies make drug and domestic battery arrests
A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday in the 3200 block of Market Street for suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell and other charges, a sheriff's deputy said.
Kaitlyn Luise Edwards was taken into custody at 10:42 p.m. According to the arrest report, duties were called to Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street for a report of a larceny.
According to the arrest report, store security advised they were with a suspect who allegedly attempted switch tags on items in the self check-out and wished to press charges. The investigating deputy asked the woman if he could search her purse. The woman gave consent. The deputy located a prescription bottle with small plastic bags containing different amount of pills.
One of the bags was labeled "do not sell." In addition the deputy located several bundles of cash ($525) with the amount written on the paper holding the bills together. The pills were 7 Alprazolam, (5 in one bag, 2 in another) in the third bag there were 17 Lorazepam pills, the report states. The pills are accessible by prescription only and are schedule 4 drugs.
The woman stated she got the pills from her ex-boyfriend and would not provide his name. She stated she is currently unemployed and collected the cash by gambling and doing side jobs. She stated she has no way of proving how she received the money and stated that she separates cash because of obsessive compulsive disorder, the arrest report states.
She was arrested for suspicion of felony possession of prescription schedule 4 drugs with intent to sell, gross misdemeanor possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and misdemeanor petit larceny. Total bail amount listed: $8,750.

— A 26-year-old man was arrested Monday, 10:50 p.m. in the 800 block of South Roop Street for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the location. An arriving deputy observed the suspect outside the residence who made eye contact and then began to run. The deputy ordered the man stop. The officer observed a small laceration on his right elbow that was bleeding. The suspect told the officer he got it from punching a window in the front of the residence, the report states.
He was read his Miranda rights which he stated he understood and agreed to speak. The man told the deputy he was arguing with his boyfriend, became angry, threw a lighter at him and threaten to burn the house down with him in it, the arrest report states. He stated that he was locked out of the house and then punched the window causing it to break, which caused the laceration on his elbow.
The officer interviewed the victim, who was consistent with the suspect's story, and said the suspect also threw a glass at him, striking him in the chest. Bail for the suspect: $3,137.
