CARSON CITY — Gov. Steve Sisolak has issued his first veto out of the 2019 legislative session, rejecting a proposal that would have pledged Nevada’s six electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote for the presidency.

There are two from the Northern Nevada area who competed in this week's Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland.

Morgan Salvador, a 12-year-old 7th grader who attends George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove at Lake Tahoe was Speller No. 284, while Morgan Bumgardner, Speller 275, is a 13-year-old Dayton Intermediate School student. A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for felony suspicion of possession of stolen property and obtaining money under false pretenses after allegedly selling a saw to the victim of a burglary after the victim discovered the equipment for sale on a social media site, a sheriff's deputy said.
