Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest

A transient man was arrested Friday evening at 8:02 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting arrest, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the report, Sheriff's deputies responded to a gaming establishment in the area on report of an unwanted subject. The reporting party (RP) informed Carson City Dispatch that the subject was outside of the business yelling and threatening patrons.

The Carson City Sheriff had arrived on scene and advised responding deputies that the subject was uncooperative, continuing to yell and cause a disturbance while law enforcement made contact with him, the report said.

Deputies attempted to take the suspect into custody at that point, but he resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground in order for officers to gain control of him. He was detained in handcuffs after a brief struggle, the report said, and placed into a patrol vehicle.

Staff was interviewed by law enforcement and reported that the suspect had been on the gaming floor when security asked to see his identification, the report said. He then became upset; yelling, using obscene language, and causing a disturbance.

The suspect had been instructed by security to leave the establishment, but he would stop and yell at staff before eventually exiting the business.

Once transported to the Carson City Jail, the suspect was once again uncooperative, the report said, refusing to exit the patrol vehicle. He had to be carried into the detention facility and placed in a safety cell during the booking process. Bail: $250.

In other arrests:

— A 48 year-old transient man was arrested Friday morning at 8:20 a.m. in the 3300 block of Research Way for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and an outstanding contempt of court warrant, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the report, a Sheriff's deputy responded to a call about a subject sleeping behind a business. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a male subject sleeping on the sidewalk behind the business.

Once awakened, the subject identified himself with an Oregon identification card. A records check through Carson City Dispatch discovered and confirmed an active contempt of court bench warrant for failure to appear issued by the Carson City Justice Court, the report said.

The suspect was then handcuffed and placed into custody, transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $150.

— A 24 year-old man was arrested Friday night at 10:12 p.m. in the area of Airport Road and Woodside Drive on multiple misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including an outstanding failure to appear bench warrant, drunken pedestrian and carrying on open alcohol container in public.

According to the report, law enforcement officers responded to an intoxicated subject walking along Airport Road and carrying an open Mickey 40 oz. glass bottle.

The subject had initially made gestures to a deputy in an effort to get his attention, the report said. Contact was made with the suspect, who Carson City Dispatch confirmed through a records check had an active arrest warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court.

He was handcuffed and taken into custody, transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident. A voluntary preliminary breath test (PBT) performed on the suspect revealed breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .139 percent. Bail: $500.

— A 26 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at 9:46 p.m. in the area of Dori Way and Carmine Street for multiple misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including ex-convicted felon failing to register, speeding and failure to obey a traffic sign.

According to the report, a Sheriff's deputy observed a black Chevrolet sedan traveling at a high rate of speed turning onto North Lompa Lane from U.S. Highway 50 East.

The responding officer was traveling at about 45 miles per hour (mph) in an effort to catch up to the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Dori Way and Carmine Street, the report said.

The vehicle was half way into the intersection when it came to a stop, the driver then sticking out his left arm and flashing an "E" gang sign.

A traffic stop was made and the deputy contacted the driver, who said he was speeding because he needed to use the restroom and apologized for running the stop sign. He also reported being a Sureno gang member.

A records check through Carson City Dispatch showed and confirmed two prior felony convictions on the suspect, who became argumentative and insisted he had documentation that he registered at the Sheriff's Office, the report said.

No record confirming the suspect's statement was found through dispatch, the report said, and he was taken into custody at that point. The suspect was transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident. Bail: $150.

All information for the crime log (unless otherwise noted) comes from the arrest reports supplied by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, and is considered by law to be public information. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The policy of Carson Now is to name anyone who is arrested for a felony offense.
