Carson City law officers, Deputy Carl Howell, remembered at wreath laying ceremony
Local law enforcement and participants gathered Thursday at the Carson City Sheriff's Office to honor fallen Carson City officers during a wreath laying ceremony.
Mayor Bob Crowell gave the opening statement and spoke on the loss of Deputy Carl Howell on August 15, 2015. He and Carson City Undersheriff Ken Sandage offered words and tribute to Howell and the four other law enforcement officers who lost their lives while in the line of duty in the city.
“Each and every one of these men sacrificed their lives so we may live in peace,” Crowell said. “It is today that we remember and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, going in harm's way to protect us and our safety.”
Invocation was made by Deacon and CCSO Chaplain Craig Lagier. The ceremony was presented by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.
