Carson City Fire Department and East Fork Fire Protection responded Friday afternoon to a brush fire burning on Jacks Valley Road.
The fire was reported at around 2:25 p.m., was said to be around 2 to 3 acres in size, and had grown at a moderate rate of spread before crews had jumped on it and got much of the flames under control.
No structures are threatened at this time. The fire was burning on tribal property, according to a Washoe Tribe police officer. It appears the fire started on the east side of the road and burned through brush near Hobo Hot Springs. Crews from East Fork Fire Protection District, the BLM, and Forest Service responded.
Carson City Fire Department has sent 1 engine and crew to the fire, said Chief Sean Slamon.
This is the third fire in the Jacks Valley area in the past 31 days. There was a fire on July 9, the James Loop Fire, which burned around 260 acres and again on July 18.
