Douglas investigators search Gardnerville property for possible remains linked to homicide case
MINDEN, Nev. — Information from an informant has led Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigators to a Gardnerville area residence where a search is underway for possible human remains on the property that may be tied to a homicide, said DCSO Undersheriff Paul Howell.
In mid-July 2018 the Douglas Sheriff’s Office initiated a cold case homicide investigation based on information received from an informant.
Further investigation enabled detectives to obtain a search warrant for a residential property on Centerville Lane to search for possible human remains that may be buried on the property, said Howell.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Investigation Division personnel anticipate remaining on this property on a multi-day operation to search for and if located, recover any human remains that may be found, said Howell. The investigation remains active and no further information can be released at this time.
