Carson City deputies make arrests for threatening text messages, domestic battery and DUI

A 26-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of threats, a misdemeanor, after allegedly sending threatening text messages and voicemails to the mother of her ex-boyfriend, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the Carson City Detention Center on Tuesday where the victim works as a nurse.

She said on Monday morning she received multiple text messages from the woman, saying, “You all have it coming to you,” and “You don’t know me b***h watch the f**k out” and “Going to f**k you all up,” according to the arrest report.

The woman also left voicemails saying, “You’re going to get it, you and your granddaughter” and “I’m going to f**k you up.” In the message, she sounded intoxicated, the arrest report states.

The victim stated she felt threatened, especially since the woman lived in Reno and had been arrested in Carson City for DUI.

The woman had posted bail for the DUI charge and was in the Alternative Sentencing office when she was taken into custody for the threatening messages. Bail: $632.

In other arrests:
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday morning in the 2500 block of North Carson Street for suspicion of violating a temporary protective order.

Deputies were originally dispatched to the location regarding damage to a motor vehicle. According to the arrest report, the man said he had left two cars parked in the parking lot six months ago, and there was now damage to both vehicles. He said he suspected his estranged wife and her boyfriend.

The woman told deputies the vehicles belonged to both herself and her husband, and that their juvenile son had caused the damage. Both parties did not want to press charges against their son.

She then told deputies that her husband had violated the protective order on Sunday after he had came to a storage unit where she was and followed her back to her daughter’s house. She said he drove into the driveway and told her “smile” before taking a picture of her with his cell phone, the arrest report states.

He denied going to the storage unit, but admitted to following and taking photos of her. He was taken into custody for violating a restraining order. Bail: $3,000.

— A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Tuesday morning for misdemeanor DUI and failing to use turn signals.

According to the arrest report, the woman left the Bank of America parking lot and failed to use her turn signals. After stopping her, a deputy could mildly smell alcohol and the woman had watery eyes.

She voluntarily submitted to a field sobriety test, in which she failed three of the four tests. She told the deputy she had consumed two beers about an hour prior. She gave a preliminary breath test with a .267 result. Bail: $1,209.

— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Tuesday morning in the 2400 block of Woodcrest for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.

A 911 hang up call prompted deputies to do a welfare check on the residence. According to the report, the woman told deputies she had been drinking apple ales all day, and when her husband got home from work, they argued about their 3-year-old son’s ear ache.

At one point, the husband knocked a beer can out of her hand, and she locked her and her son in the bedroom. The husband got into the room, and she slapped him in the upper arm. He “dared her to do it again,” and she back handed him in the stomach, according to the arrest report. Bail: $3,137.

— A 38-year-old transient man was arrested for violating a temporary protective order Tuesday afternoon in the 3700 block of North Carson Street.

The victim came to deputies with evidence of the violation by way of text messages. The deputies confirmed the restraining order was still active and the messages were sent on Tuesday.

The man then called dispatch himself, stating he wanted to file a police report against the victim for not following their child custody agreement and gave his location, the report states.

He was then taken into custody for the violation. Bail: $3,137.
