Rain dampens Springs Fire
Overnight rain helped reduce the spread of the Springs Fire in Douglas County to only 30 acres, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center.
The fire consumed 1,000 acres yesterday, but no structures were lost. The fire is officially only 5 percent contained, but they have reduced staffing to one engine and two hand crews.
