Carson City deputies make probation violation, domestic battery arrests
A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Friday for felony probation violation and misdemeanor obstructing, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Dispatch advised the woman, Amanda Marie Bernard, was on probation with a “no alcohol” clause. She blew a .244 on a preliminary breath test. Parole and probation requested she be taken into custody for probation violation. She was arrested at 12:20 a.m. in the area of California and Colorado streets.
As she was transported to jail, the woman pulled her right hand out of a handcuff and removed her seat belt. She became belligerent and was refusing to exit the patrol vehicle as instructed, shouting and cursing, according to the arrest report. She was also charged with obstructing.
She was placed on a “no bail” hold in lieu of a hearing for the parole and probation violation. Bail for obstructing: $412.
In other arrests:
— A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 9 p.m. in the 500 block of North Stewart Street for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a protection order. The man allegedly made several phone calls and left threatening text messages after being served with a protection order. Bail: $3,137.
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was booked into Carson City Jail Thursday, 1 p.m. for a misdemeanor warrant alleging theft. The warrant was issued out of Reno Township Justice Court. Bail: $650.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the man and his male companion were in an argument that turned into a physical altercation after a racial slur was used.
The suspect admitted to slapping his boyfriend on the left side of the face after he heard the racial slur, the arrest states. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 34-year-old Reno man was booked into Carson City Jail on Thursday, 8:20 a.m. for a violation of a suspended sentence warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. The man turned himself in on the warrant. Bail: $1,000.
