Carson City man arrested for allegedly smashing 14 cars, shooting into apartment, attempting to sexually assault a child

A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 20 College Parkway just after 3:30 a.m. Thursday on multiple charges including attempted sexual assault of a child, battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon, 14 counts of destruction of property, 14 counts of tampering with a vehicle, child abuse, and possession of a firearm buy a prohibited person.

According to the arrest report, Aldean Ray Street Jr. was arrested after multiple calls to dispatch regarding multiple shots fired and that a man was actively breaking car windows in a parking lot.

When reporting deputies arrived on scene, an additional deputy had three people at gunpoint. Upon arrival, the reporting deputies released K9 Remus and three men were detained.

One man, later identified as Street, was detained while the other two men were later released.

Multiple residents at the apartment complex stated they woke up to loud noises including gun shots, yelling and cussing, and the sounds of windows being broken. One resident who said they went outside to see what was going on witnessed Street throwing rocks through car windows, yelling “Rez boy what, Rez boy!” according to the arrest report.

Another resident stated they attempted to confront Street but were concerned he was armed so they backed off. Street began to throw rocks at him.

A third resident stated they were woken up by arguing outside before they heard a loud noise and something hit the wall and ricochet within the apartment. They said they went to check on what was going on and saw pieces of their wall on the floor and bullet holes in the wall. He said he went out to his balcony and saw his window had been smashed.

A total of 14 cars were damaged by Street according to the report.

A family member of Street told deputies that they had been called by Street’s girlfriend who asked them to come and take the children from the apartment. When he arrived, he said he saw Street walk out of his apartment and shot his gun in the air. He told deputies he attempted to calm Street down, but he would not listen, and eventually he was able to get the gun away from him and secure it.

Deputies were able to retrieve a PBT from Street which resulted in a BAC of .185. A warrant was sought and approved for a blood draw.

During the investigation, deputies also learned Aldean had attempted to sexually assault a child who was under the age of 13. No further information was provided in the arrest report.

Street was taken into custody and is being held on a bail amount of $185,137.
