'So Juicy,' Carson City's newest Juice-and-Salad Shop, now open for business
So Juicy, Carson City’s newest juice-and-salad shop is now open for business at their downtown Carson Street location.
Doors officially opened on Monday, July 8, and since then they've been so busy they've already beat their goal, said co-owner Kacie DeKruse.
"Our focus is on health and education," said partner Bryan Murphy, DeKruse's husband.
At present they're offering a full salad bar, home made dressings that are mostly vegan, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, muesli and more. Everything is sugar free; the only sweetener they use is from dates.
According to DeKruse, what sets their juices apart is that they are cold-pressed, which is different from smaller juices.
"With the smaller, home juices, a lot of the nutrients are lost," she said. "They're heated up and they oxidize quickly. With cold-pressed juices, you retrain 100 percent of the nutrients."
"We wanted to make something that is easily accessible for people," said Murphy. "Something that is fast but healthy."
As a way to push ahead the mission of accessibility, they also offer online ordering and call-ahead-ordering.
"It's good for people around here who just want a grab-and-go option that’s healthy and quick," said DeKruse.
In the next week or so they'll also be offering WiFi, and they currently have USB wall plug-ins for laptops and accessories.
So Juicy is open 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon-Fri and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. They are located at 208 North Carson Street.
