Power outage impacts nearly 4,400 customers in Carson City
UPDATE: 7:25PM: Power appears to be fully restored to the Carson City area, NV Energy reports. Equipment failures at multiple locations around the Nevada state capital appear to have been the cause of the widespread outage.

UPDATE: 6:50PM: All but about 638 customers in Carson City have had there power restored at this time. The remaining outage appears to be along the Mountain Street corridor between Washington Street and Winnie Lane, according to the NV Energy outage map.
Restoration for this area is reported to be around 8 p.m. Saturday.
A small area of Como Street near Saliman and East Fifth Street also remains without power at this time, effecting less than five customers. Restoration for this area is also reported to be around 8 p.m. Saturday, NV Energy said.

UPDATE: 6:20PM: Power has been restored to about 1,500 of the 4,500 customers without power in Carson City, an NV Energy map of the outage shows.
There are still about 2,900 customers without power in Carson City at this time, NV Energy shows, mostly along the East Long Street corridor.

UPDATE: 4:48PM: NV Energy is currently reporting 11 outage points in Carson City, the largest area effecting more than 3,600 customers along the corridor of East Long and East William streets, a map of the outage area shows.
In all, more than 4,500 Carson City customers are currently without power.
Power is expected to be restored for most of Carson City between 6:45 and 7 p.m. Saturday evening, NV Energy reports.
All of the outage points reported appear to be due to equipment failure, NV Energy said.

A power outage in Carson City appears to be effecting multiple traffic signals around town, the Carson City Sheriff's Office and emergency dispatch are reporting.
A deputy initially reported the lights out along Fifth Street, between Stewart and Roop Street, at around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Additional reports from deputies through dispatch included signals as far north as Long and North Carson streets, east to College Parkway and Fairview Drive, and south to Roop Street near Fairview.
Sheriff's deputies have been dispatched to multiple intersections for traffic control.

The largest cluster of reported outage points appears to be the Roop Street corridor between Long Street to the north and Fifth Street to the south.
There are currently 16 outage points reported in Carson City.
