Sen. Harry Reid makes Fourth of July visit to RSVP Carnival at Mills Park in Carson City
Sen. Harry Reid turned up in the Capital City on this Fourth of July holiday, spending about an hour at the annual RSVP Carnival at Mills Park in Carson City.
The Nevada Democrat and the Senate Majority Leader strolled through the park and was greeted by well-wishers, supporters and even a couple of critics who were polite and cordial.
Reid shook hands and chatted as he strolled along the midway section. As he walked, he stopped and bought cold drinks for himself, staffers and anyone who was thirsty, and asked people their names and how they were doing. Many were surprised to see the senator in person, and several asked to have their pictures taken with him in which he agreed.
An interview with Reid at Mills Park in Carson City will be on KTVN Channel 2 Reno tonight at 6:30 and again at 11 p.m. In the interview, Reid will likely speak about Nevada jobs, the economy, energy legislation and the BP oil spill.
