Women to Women with Nevada Magazine Publisher Janet Geary
This week's episode of Women to Women features Janet Geary, publisher of Nevada Magazine.
In January 1936, Nevada Highways and Parks, known today as Nevada Magazine, was introduced by the state highway department. Always an information source for Nevada residents and tourists, what started as a digest-sized bulletin has grown into a colorful magazine.
For more than 75 years, Nevada Magazine has been telling the Silver State's story — in Carson City, Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, and beyond. In print and online it highlights urban and rural travel, dining, people, history, gaming, events, shows and Nevada culture.
Nevada Magazine is now a division of the Nevada Commission on Tourism, published bimonthly, and based in Carson City and Las Vegas. The approximately 80-page magazine has a circulation of 20,000. About 100,000 editions of Las Vegas Events & Shows, plus 20,000 editions of Nevada Events & Shows, are printed as stand-alone publications.
In its third season, Women to Women Nevada, hosted by Carol Paz of Carson City, is televised on Charter Media every Thursday at 7 p.m. on Channel 190 in Carson City, Gardnerville, Dayton, Reno, Sparks, Fernley, Fallon and Lake Tahoe. The program also airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 8-8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Episodes also appear every Friday on Carson Now.
The locally produced and privately owned program features Northern Nevada women who are making a difference in their communities and in the region.
