Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for domestic battery, victim audio recorded the incident
A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday in the 300 block of West Sixth Street on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to the area and made contact with the victim and his wife. The officer observed that both the victim's outer and inner shirts were torn and hanging off his waist and that he had a fresh scratch, approximately 4 to 6 inches on the back of his neck. He said the woman had been drinking and attacked him in the backyard. He said he fled and called 911 for help.
The victim allowed the officer to listen to an audio recording he had going during the majority of the incident. In the recording the officer heard the woman calling him names, using profanity and during the parts where it sounded physical, the victim was yelling at the woman to get away from him. It was clear from the recording that the suspect was the aggressor, the arrest report states.
The woman denied getting physical with the man and claimed he had choked her. She had a small mark on her neck that did not resemble a mark of being choked, the arrest report states. She was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery at 10:11 p.m.and booked into jail without incident. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
— A 39-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday, 5:39 p.m. at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street on two gross misdemeanor counts suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug, and misdemeanor petit larceny.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the store regarding items that were concealed as the suspect was about to leave the store.
The officer waited outside the east door and watched the suspect exit and was detained. Walmart security informed the deputy that the man had taken approximately $78 worth of items and left the store, passing all points of payment.
As the officer was searching the man during the arrest he discovered a bottle of prescription pills in his right front pocket. He had a prescription for the majority of pills but did not for two of them, Epitol and Gabepentin, both are listed as prescription only. Bail: $5,352.
