Carson City man jailed for allegedly stealing power generator from employer
A Carson City man was booked into jail on Tuesday for felony suspicion of grand larceny after allegedly stealing a power generator while serving as a temporary employee, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Trent Lawrence Getty, 26, was arrested at the CAL Ranch store in the 2000 block of North Carson Street.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the business for a report of grand larceny. Deputies met with loss prevention personnel who advised the suspect, a temporary employee, was observed walking out of the store with a Honda generator he took from the stock room. Loss prevention advised the man made no attempt to pay for the generator, valued at $999.99, and observed him place it into the trunk of his vehicle after exiting the store.
Loss prevention detained the temporary employee and requested his permission to retrieve the generator from the vehicle. The suspect provided consent and he retrieved the generator, the arrest report states. The incident was captured on video surveillance.
