Two Carson City women jailed on separate sex offense-related charges

Two Carson City women were arrested Monday in separate cases involving warrants alleging felony statutory sexual seduction in one instance, and gross misdemeanor indecent exposure in another.

Tracy Lynn Cervantes, 24, was arrested in the 2700 block of Menlo Drive at 1:31 p.m. A warrant had been issued for her arrest on June 5. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $21,000.

In a separate case, a 26-year-old Carson City woman faces a gross misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure and a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, stemming from warrants issued in 2010 out of Lyon County.

The warrants accuse the woman of watching a pornographic movie with a 15-year-old and then allowing him to touch her breasts, according to court documents. The alleged incident happened in August 2010.

The woman was stopped by Carson City authorities after officers observed her roll through a stop sign at Glacier Drive and Desatoya Drive on Monday at 7:59 a.m. She was to be transported to Lyon County Jail. Bail: $3,637.

In other arrests:

— A 35-year-old Carson City woman faces a felony DUI charge, after having two prior convictions for DUI. Cara Lynn Weddell was stopped Monday 7:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of Gregg Street.

According to the arrest report, officers were alerted to the intoxicated woman driving in the area of Pheasant Drive and Latigo.

The arresting officer saw the vehicle the woman was driving and allowed it to pass him. He observed Weddell using a cell phone as she was driving. She pulled to a stop in front of the officer, who then activated his lights and siren. Weddell got out of the vehicle and began walking away, the arrest report states. The officer asked her to stop, which she did.

The officer observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath. She removed her sunglasses, revealing red and watery eyes. A record search of the woman notified officers that she was on alternative sentencing and was prohibited from drinking alcohol.

She was taken to jail where she declined a standard field sobriety test, saying "I already know I'm drunk (and) going to fail this."

An Intoxilizer test was administered which showed a .235 BAC on her first sample and a .220 on her second. The woman has two prior convictions in the past seven years. She is being held on $23,000 bail.

— A 22-year-old Sparks woman wanted for felony burglary and forgery was booked into the Carson City Jail on Monday. Chanitia Zonivia Davis, a food service employee, is being held on $15,000 bail.

— A 47-year-old Incline Village man was arrested Monday, June 10 and faces a misdemeanor failure to appear in court charge for a traffic violation.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested and faces a misdemeanor DUI charge after allegedly destroying doors and furniture at his mother's house, leaving in a vehicle and then returning as officers arrived. The man failed the field sobriety tests administered and blew a preliminary breath sample of .120, followed by breath tests at the jail that registered .111 and .108. Bail: $1,137.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, June 10 and faces a misdemeanor charge of being in contempt of court. The man was arrested in the 3000 block of Highway 50 East at 2:42 p.m. The warrant was issued June 5 for failure to attend counseling classes.

— A Carson City woman was arrested Monday, June 10 and faces a misdemeanor warrant contempt of court charge. She was arrested at 1:48 p.m. at the intersection of Brown and Edmonds.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
