Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Dayton woman jailed on suspicion of driving stolen vehicle
A 39-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Friday, 12:30 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street on felony suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a white Jeep Wrangler that had been reported stolen earlier in the evening through the Storey County Sheriff’s Office. A registration check of the vehicle came back stolen.
The deputy followed the vehicle and waited for supporting deputies to arrive. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a casino in the 3800 block of South Carson Street.
The arresting deputy activated his emergency lights and exited the vehicle. Other deputies arrived and the suspect, Nichole Renee Canda, and a passenger were detained. Canda was listed as the suspect in the vehicle theft and was arrested. Bail: $25,000.
In other arrests:
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 4:36 a.m. in the area of College Parkway and Emerson Drive on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and registration. Bail: $749.
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 4:45 a.m. in the 3000 block of North Roop Street on a warrant, violation of an extended order restricting stalking and harassment. Bail: $3,000.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 11:08 p.m. in the area of Eighth and Stewart streets on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane of traffic. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after he observed the woman’s vehicle swerving and turning across a double-yellow line. The woman said she had been drinking and submitted a preliminary breath test to be above .08, the arrest report states. Bail: $1,224.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Thursday, 9 p.m. on three misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued in March of this year. Bail: $28,000.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday in the 900 block of Woodside Drive on misdemeanor suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstructing a law officer. According to the arrest report, the man had been entering a market in the area and using racist language and had harassed a female customer.
The suspect was located nearby. He was asked for identification in which he refused after being asked several times. He would not provide his name or date of birth when asked multiple times and was subsequently arrested. Bail: $744.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Thursday, 9:05 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of bail conditions. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a court hearing.
