In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, students at Carson Middle School have chosen Feeding Pets of the Homeless as the beneficiary of their recent Miracle Minute donation.

A total of 33 third, fourth and fifth grade students from Empire Elementary School performed a musical theater program for their peers during the school day and again in the evening for parents and families Tuesday, March 26. The production, titled "Character Matters," taught SEL-based life lessons through the lens of fairytale characters trying to find their way.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with Avel eCare for Virtual Crisis Care, adding another, and much needed mental health resource in Lyon County. In conjunction with Lyon County Human Services’ Mobil Outreach Safety Team (MOST), and NAMI Western Nevada, Avel eCare provided training this week to Sheriff’s Office personnel from the Patrol, Detention, and Communication Divisions, as well as Lyon County Juvenile Probation Officers in the use of this new technology.

Celebrating its Spring Fling Bunco fundraiser, Soroptimist International of Carson City will begin with a stuffed baked potato bar including bacon, butter, sour cream, broccoli and a side salad at 5:30pm. A no-host bar will be available. At 6:30pm the fun begins including prizes for top Bunco achievers.
