Seats open on Carson City's debt management, historic resources commissions
Carson City is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Debt Management Commission and Historic Resources Commission.
The Debt Management Commission provides a cursory review of proposed bonded indebtedness, makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors based upon statutory limits on Ad-Valorem, rates and tax caps, and establishes debt management policies. Meetings are held at least every August and February and may also meet at the call of the Chairman.
There is one (1) opening for a “Citizen-at-Large” to fill a partial term, expiring March 2019.
Applicants should be aware that a minimum commitment of up to ten hours a year is expected. All members will serve without compensation. Applicants must be Carson City residents to qualify. Let it be known that all applications submitted to this office will be considered public information.
Applications will be accepted until June 12, 2017. Review and/or interviews of the applicants are tentatively planned for the next scheduled Debt Management Commission meeting.
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Historic Resources Commission.
There is one (1) position available, for a term that expires in July 2021. There is an open position available in any of the following categories for a total of two appointments to be made by the Board of Supervisors in accordance with CCMC 18.06.025: Building Construction.
The Historic Resources Commission reviews and makes decisions regarding projects in the Carson City Historic District and/or recommendations to the Regional Planning Commission and/or Board of Supervisors regarding matters relating to Carson City historic resources.
The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified persons to the Commission. Applicants must be Carson City residents and a professional in one of the categories listed above to qualify. All members will serve without compensation. Applications will be accepted until July 7, 2017. Interviews for these volunteer positions are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
