Nevada Lieutenant Governor to Speak at WNC 2017 Spring Commencement
Congratulations, 551 graduates. Recognition of the hard work and dedication of one of Western Nevada College’s largest graduating classes will be celebrated in a commencement ceremony on Monday, May 22 at the Marv Teixeira Pavilion in Carson City.
Doors open at 9 a.m. for seating, with the ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Nevada Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison will deliver the commencement’s keynote address.
Marv Teixeira Pavilion is located in Mills Park at 111 East William Street on U.S. Highway 50.
Graduates can purchase their cap, gown and tassel through Friday, May 19 from the WNC bookstore. They are advised to purchase them earlier, though, so they can be fitted for the appropriate sizes.
Graduates check in at 9 a.m. on the east end of the Marv Teixeira Pavilion. Graduating students will line up for the procession a half hour before the ceremony. Ushers will guide graduates through the ceremony.
Academic honors that students receive during the ceremony are determined by grade-point averages through fall 2016; grades from spring semester won’t be finalized for the ceremony.
