Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly having stolen credit cards, 22 grams of cocaine

A 29-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday for suspicion of being in possession of stolen credit cards and drug related offenses, including possession for sale, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Andre Gregory Shaver of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., was taken into custody at 1:18 a.m. in the area of Fall and Corbett streets.
Along with the credit card possession offense, he was booked for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession for sales, felony probation violation and gross misdemeanor possession of a prescription drug without a prescription.
According to the booking report, deputies responded to the area following a subject stop by a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant. Shaver was stopped for not having a white light on the front of his bicycle and a red light on the back. He was seen by the sergeant having crossed several lanes of traffic.
During a records check, it was learned Shaver was on state of Nevada parole and probation. He had a "no drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia," clause and search and seizure attached to his probation status. He also had a no weapons clause. He was in possession of a fixed blade knife, approximately three inches in length in a sheath on his person, according to the booking report.
The sergeant searched the man's backpack and located a green and white box with several blue baggies, used in the sales of controlled substance. Also located in another part of the box was several bindles of a white powdery substance, according to the report. Officers used a Nartec field test kit, which tested presumptive positive for cocaine, which was later weighed at 22 grams. Also in the backpack was a bottle of Trazadone belonging to a female.
The sergeant informed the man he was under arrest. Parole and probation placed him on a no-bail hold for violation of his probation. The sergeant transported the man to jail. Upon arrival, the sergeant located several credit cards on the floor of his patrol vehicle that were not there at the beginning of his shift.
There were three credit cards with different people's names, one of which was reported stolen several months prior. He was being held without bail for probation violation. The total bail amounts listed for the other alleged offenses: $15,000.
In other arrests:
— A 27-year-old Carson City man, Keith Martinez, was booked for a felony warrant alleging battery by a prisoner. The warrant was issued May 11, 2021 out of Carson City Justice Court. The man was already in custody at the jail serving unrelated charges. Bail: $20,000.
— A Carson City man, Robert Stevenson, was arrested Tuesday in the area of North Fall and East William Street for suspicion of felony indecent or obscene exposure. According to the booking report, deputies received an anonymous report of a male masturbating in the front seat of a blue sedan. The male was sitting in the driver seat and a female was also in the vehicle.
Upon arrival a deputy walked up on the driver side and saw the man with a blanket on his lap, holding a cell phone with what looked to be a pornographic video playing, according to the arrest report.
The officer began to speak with the man and opened the driver's door and instructed him to step out. The man asked if he could pull up his pants, which the officer told him he could. At the same time, he yelled that the female in the vehicle told him to do it. The man was arrested and taken to jail. As he was walking to the patrol vehicle, he directed a vulgarity at one of the officers.
Upon arrival at jail, he told deputies that the female in the vehicle told him to do it and that he did not know it was wrong for him to masturbate in a vehicle. Stevenson is a convicted sex offender out of Douglas County, which was confirmed through Carson City dispatch. Bail: $5,000.
— A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for gross misdemeanor warrants alleging indecent or obscene exposure and unlawful contact with a child as well as a misdemeanor warrant for disturbing the peace. The warrants were issued May 6, 2021 out of Carson City Justice Court.
— A 33-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Tahoe Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 48-year-old Carson City man as booked Tuesday for a felony warrant alleging possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor warrant alleging possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Warren Bird turned himself into Carson City Jail for the warrants.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for misdemeanor obstructing and and violation of department of alternative sentencing conditions.
According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a church on North Lompa Lane for a report of a male subject laying in the travel lane of the road. The reporting party advised that vehicles were having to slow down and go around the subject.
A deputy arrived on the scene and began talking to the man, who then took off running. The man went through backyards and over fences. Another deputy observed the man exit from a backyard and gave the man commands to stop. He did not comply, and began to run again. The firs deputy was able to use his patrol vehicle to block the man's path. The man initially took a fighting stance with deputies, and then fell to the ground and began to be cooperative.
He was handcuffed and read his Miranda rights. The man explained he was unsure why he ran and said that he had huffed paint earlier in the morning. He had what appeared to be gold spray paint on his lips. Carson City Fire Department was notified. Once they arrived on scene they advised he was OK. The man was asked if he needed other medical attention and he replied he didn't. He was taken to jail. Bail: $3,412.
