It's Your City with Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon
In this week's edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon who came on board in March. Chief Slamon talks about the emergency management role in the city and discusses the snowpack issue from this winter's historic snow in the Sierra and the concern now of the snow melt and the potential for flooding.
As of now, the concern isn't as much as the snowmelt runoff reaching the city itself, but for the runoff that may affect roads and highways outside of town.
"The concern is major transportation routes will be disrupted," Slamon said earlier this week. "Runoff, landslides, damaged roads could impact travel coming into and traveling out of the Carson area. If that occurs, important supply chains could experience delays."
