Quad-County COVID-19 Friday Report: 21 new cases, 22 recoveries

We are reporting 21 new cases and 22 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 12,573, with 11,974 recoveries and 226 deaths; 373 cases remain active.

A series of winter storms will push through the Sierra and Carson City region this week.

Active weather patterns will begin to move into the Sierra and Carson City region beginning Tuesday, with valley rain and mountain snow at Lake Tahoe extending into Friday and possibly beyond, according to the National Weather Service.

The Carson City School District advises that Public Works will close a portion of Washington Street beginning Monday, Nov. 26, through the entire week. Washington Street will be closed between Sunset Way and Mountain Street.

A 60-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested early Sunday in the area of Clear Creek Avenue and Horatio Lane for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant and failure to yield to a police officer, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Carson City emergency crews are on scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of N. Roop and E. Long streets. No reported injuries, but the accident is blocking traffic.

Law enforcement is diverting traffic at the intersection. Motorists can expect delays. Alternate routes are advised.

A man and woman were arrested Friday evening at 5:13 p.m. in the 3300 block of U.S. Highway 50 East on charges of felony drug trafficking, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
