Car Club revs up for Carson Tahoe health staff: Classics to line up Saturday in Carson City
The cancellation of Hot August Night’s ‘Spring Fever Revival’ isn’t slowing Dayton and Carson City area classic car owners from spreading some joy in these challenging times.
This Saturday, May 9, a group of classic car owners will be showing their appreciation to Carson Tahoe Health staff and patients by holding a “classic-car” drive-by.
The Dayton Valley Car Club is hosting this Social Distancing Cruise and Show ‘n Shine, and plan on doing several rounds around Medical Parkway, then go down main street starting at noon.
Cars will meet at the parking lot behind Bully’s, 3530 N. Carson Street, in Carson City at 11:30 a.m. They will cruise the hospital then return to Bully’s, parking in every other space for a Show 'n Shine. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Those who wish to come and watch can honor Carson Tahoe Hospital staff by wearing your face covering and following safe distancing rules.
A suggested $10 donation will be collected to buy lunch for the Carson Tahoe Hospital staff.
The goal is to help people get out of the house, provide a volunteer opportunity for the community, and to thank the CTH staff for the work they are doing during COVID-19.
This Saturday’s run is just in time for Nurses’ Week, May 6-12, and Hospital Week, May 10-16.
