Known gang member arrested by Carson City deputies for domestic battery second

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2900 block of Mayflower Way Thursday night for domestic battery second.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on the report of a woman sustaining injuries to her face.

The woman told dispatch she had a busted lip and had been battered by her boyfriend. She advised the man had left the residence approximately twenty minutes before she called 911.

Deputies arrived on scene and dispatch advised the man in question was a known gang member who had previous convictions for violent crimes and crimes against law enforcement.

Deputies met with the woman who had numerous injuries to her face including a fat lip, a bloody forehead, and facial swelling.

Deputies inside the residence were advised that a vehicle had pulled up to the residence that was registered to the man. The deputy went to check out the vehicle and noticed that it was unoccupied.

They located the man sitting down behind a trailer and placed him in handcuffs.

The man agreed to speak with deputies but would not tell them what happened. The man continued to tell deputies to “tell him what happened” and they said they could not since they weren’t on scene.

Deputies noted that the man had defensive scratches on his left and right arms.

The man was taken into custody and deputies learned he had a previous domestic battery charge against him from 2015, so he was arrested on domestic battery second, a gross misdemeanor.
