View From The Broadcast Booth: The possible postseason scenarios heading into the final week for WNC Baseball
Hello everyone! As most of you know for the past four months I have been extremely busy with the WNC Baseball season that can be heard live right here on Carson Now every weekend. Well, the regular season is coming to a close this next weekend and WNC still has a shot at the SWAC Championship and bringing the postseason tournament here to Carson City. We hit the road to Twin Falls, ID (one of my favorite stops) to take on the College of Southern Idaho.
This WNC team has battled all year long and has really come on strong as of late.
Here are the SWAC Baseball standings heading into the final week of the regular season. Here is a breakdown of what could happen:
SLCC (22-10): Is done, they have a bye week. They wait and see what happens. Will be SWAC Champions and host the tournament if WNC loses one game in Twin Falls vs. CSI. They cannot do worse than the two seed.
WNC (19-9): Will go on the road to Twin Falls, ID and play four games vs. CSI. They can become the SWAC Champions and host the tournament by winning all four. They cannot do worse than the two seed.
CSN (14-14): Will play CNCC in Rangely for their final four games. They could fall to the fourth seed by losing 3 out of 4 and CSI winning 3 out of 4 or stay at the third seed. They cannot move any higher than the third seed.
CSI (12-16): Will play WNC at home in Twin Falls, ID. They cannot do worse than the fourth seed. They could claim the third seed by winning three and CSN losing three in Rangely.
CNCC (5-23): Will play at home in Rangely vs CSN for the final four games. They cannot go any higher than the fifth seed but can play spoiler to CSN and drop them to the fourth seed by taking 3 out of 4 and CSI winning 3 out of 4 vs. WNC.
(These are just the possible scenarios. You all know where I stand, and what I hope happens)
