Carson City emergency crews respond to teenager injured in horse riding accident
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Sunday afternoon to Deer Run Road and Sedge Road for a teenager who was injured after falling from a horse.
The incident was reported at around 3:45 p.m. Access to Sedge Road has been blocked for traffic to allow for emergency vehicles, according to a battalion chief on scene.
The patient was taken by ground ambulance to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
It is the second time Sunday in which paramedics have been called to recreation-related accidents. Earlier an adult male was flown by a CalStar air ambulance after a bicycle crash in the Ash Canyon area. His condition is unknown at this time.
