Carson City sheriff's deputies make DUI, warrant arrests
A 26-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested early Thursday for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Deputies were dispatched at 3:04 a.m. to a local bar for a threats report. The man allegedly made threats, said he had a gun, and had been threatening customers. The man left in a silver 4 door SUV south on Stewart Street.
A Carson City sheriff's deputy driving south on Stewart observed the SUV serving, from the number one to number two lanes, and then off the right shoulder onto the curb before parking in a casino parking lot, according to the arrest report.
The officer got behind the vehicle and put on his overhead lights. The man stepped out of the vehicle and put his hands in the air. He was detained and patted down for weapons. No gun was found. The officer read the man his Miranda rights and he agreed to speak. While speaking the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person.
The man consented to a series of standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. The man refused a preliminary breath test. He was placed under arrest. At jail he agreed to an evidentiary blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
