Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop to open Carson City location
The popular sandwich shop well known throughout Reno and Sparks will be opening their fifth northern Nevada location in Carson City, taking up residence in the former Dunkin' Donuts on East William Street.
A banner can be seen tacked to the building, announcing the upcoming opening.
There are currently four Capriotti’s sandwich shops in Reno and Sparks. The Carson City location at 2190 East William Street.
According to Capriotti’s website, the original Capriotti’s opened in Wilmington, Delaware by sister and brother duo Lois Margolet and Alan Margolet. They created Capriotti’s to stand apart from the competition by endeavoring to roast whole turkeys overnight, becoming the only sandwich shop to do so.
Their first shop opened in 1976 and has spread nationwide since then.
They are best known for their Bobbie, Capastrami, Cole Turnkey, Slaw Be Jo, Can Slam Club, Cheesesteamks, Italian Subs and Turkey Sandwiches.
At their other locations in Reno, Capriotti’s has instituted new safety precautions in response to COVID-19, according to their website. They are currently only open for pickup or delivery.
