Carson City arrests: Man sought for using stolen debit card in custody
A 39-year-old man sought by Carson City sheriff's detectives for burglary and using a stolen debit card was taken into custody Saturday and faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, a sheriff's deputy said.
Patrick Hasselberger was arrested in the 1300 block of North Carson Street at noon Saturday. He was arrested for suspicion of obtaining and using a credit or debit card without consent, two counts burglary, and two misdemeanor counts of obtaining money by false pretense.
According to the arrest report, deputies received information about a man whose photos were released to the press regarding a suspect in a credit card theft. The man was located at a motel. A deputy in the area happened to see the suspect matching the description.
The man identified himself and was read his Miranda warning where he agreed to speak. He admitted using someone else's credit card at Walmart and a convenience store a few days prior. He stated he bought the card off of an unknown person for $10 and then used it. Debit card transactions were made for $93.42 at Walmart and $11.74 at the Quick Stop convenience store on North Roop Street.
Deputies obtained a written consent to search the room of the occupant and located shoes and gloves the man was wearing during transactions of the card. Additionally there were suspected stolen checks located in the room as well as burglary tools. Total bail amount listed: $105,000.
In other arrests:
— A 41-year-old Carson City woman Dawn Michelle Frobes, was arrested Sunday, 6 p.m. at Mills Park for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area regarding a report of a domestic battery in progress. There was a silver Jeep Liberty described as being involved.
Deputies arrived and observed a vehicle and a man walking along side of it. The deputy made contact with the driver, Frobes, and the man. She was asked to exit her vehicle during the investigation. A K9 sniff of the vehicle alerted positive for drugs, the arrest report states.
A search was conducted and a small baggie with suspected methamphetamine was discovered in a purse in the vehicle. The woman was arrested. At jail she advised deputies that a methamphetamine pipe was on her person. Bail: $3,774.
— A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 5:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East William Street for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence and trespassing.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area for a report of four subjects on the east side of a store who were urinating in bushes. A deputy made contact with the men and recognized one suspect from previous contacts.
The man showed signs of intoxication. The man was asked if he was on Department of Alternative Sentencing probation. The man did not respond. He was checked through dispatch where it was learned he had a "no alcohol" clause as a condition of his probation.
He provided a preliminary breath test of .214. Alternative Sentencing was advised and they requested he be taken into custody for a condition violation. The business where the man was found also advised they wished to make a citizens arrest for trespassing. Bail: $1,142.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday in the area of Highway 50 and East Nichols Lane for misdemeanor driving with a suspended or revoked license, not having valid insurance and driving with suspended or revoked registration.
According to the arrest report, a deputy ran a registration check on a vehicle, which came back suspended. The vehicle was in the area of Highway 50 East. The officer made a traffic stop where the man was unable to provide a current proof of insurance. A records check showed the man's license was revoked for previous failure to appear in court on traffic violations. Bail: $1,486.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for a felony suspicion of parole and probation violation. Colten Kirby Coralles was arrested at 2:05 a.m. in the 400 block of North Carson Street.
According to the arrest report, he was located inside a casino, which was a violation of conditions of his probation. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
