Carson City man arrested at motel on suspicion of felony parole and probation violation

A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday morning and placed on a felony parole and probation hold after allegedly violating conditions of his alternative sentencing agreement.

Mark Edward Davis was booked into Carson City Jail on the charge after being arrested at a motel in the 2700 block of South Carson Street. A Reno man was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a motel in the area on a report of possible fraud. The night desk clerk stated a man came to the front counter at 11:45 p.m. Monday requesting a key for a specific room number.

The clerk stated the man did not have any identification and she refused to give him a room key and that they attempted to contact the occupant of the room to verify the male was staying in the room. The clerk told the deputy they were unable to reach anyone inside the room.

The clerk stated they attempted to call the room occupant via cell phone, reaching Davis who claimed to be in Mono Lake, Calif., at work and that he was not staying at the motel. The clerk then called the sheriff's office to report the situation, the arrest report states.

Deputies went to the room in question and made contact with two men inside including Davis, who provided his Nevada driver's license for identification. The officer conducted a warrant check on both men and was advised by Carson City Dispatch that the Reno man had an outstanding arrest warrant issued out of Reno Township Justice Court issued Jan. 8, 2014, with a $651 bail amount. He was cuffed and taken into custody.

Dispatch advised Davis is currently on Alternative Sentencing and Parole and Probation with a no alcohol clause on both case loads, the arrest report states. He took a preliminary breath sample of .146. Parole and Probation advised Davis be arrested for the no alcohol clause violation. He was cuffed and taken to jail. He is being held without bail until a parole and probation hearing. Bail for the alternative sentencing violation is $3,000.
