Carson City worker accused of stealing big bucks from employer nabbed near Seattle
A Carson City woman has been tracked down in suburban Seattle and jailed on charges she stole nearly $100,000 from her Minden employer, then skipped town although she earlier had agreed to turn herself in.
Douglas County authorities say Sandra Kay Hunter was the object of an arrest warrant charging her with embezzling the money from her former employer, Property Management and Maintenance. She was arrested by federal U.S. Marshals in Tacoma, just south of Seattle. Douglas authorities went out to Hunter's home finding it empty with no forwarding address given at the post office. An investigation led to her discovery in Tacoma. Hunter is awaiting extradition back to Douglas County to be formally charged.
