Man jailed after allegedly pushing wife into wall during argument over laundry detergent
A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 10:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of Star Way on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery after allegedly pushing his wife’s face into a wall, causing her to break a tooth, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to a convenience store to meet with the victim, who did not want to meet them at their residence. The victim told officers that her husband had been drinking and was upset that she had been using the wrong detergent to wash his clothes, the arrest report states.
The woman said her husband threw wet clothes on her head while she was in the bathroom and then pushed her from behind, causing her to hit her nose and mouth on the wall. Officers could see her tooth was visibly broken and photographed her injuries.
Officers responded to a residence where the man had been and spoke with him. He was cooperative and smelled like he had been drinking, the arrest report states. The man told officers he got into an argument with his wife and that she punched and slapped him in the face, though officers could not see any evidence of injury to the man’s face.
He further stated that his wife jumped on his back and that he pushed her off with his elbow, injuring her face. His version was inconsistent with the victim’s and he was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
