Carson City arrests: Two jailed in separate domestic battery incidents
A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Thursday in the 800 block of East William Street for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to an apartment building at 2:25 a.m. regarding a loud verbal argument. Upon arrival, the deputy could hear yelling coming from an apartment.
The deputy then heard the argument escalate into physical contact. The deputy entered the home and separated both. The house was in disarray and had multiple broken items strewn around the residence, the arrest report states.
The victim had two large scratch marks on her left hand. Both were out of breath, appeared agitated but denied physical contact was made. After speaking with both, the deputy determined the man to be the primary aggressor. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 7:10 p.m. at a 20 College Parkway apartment for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the apartment regarding a battery. Dispatch advised a male called in and stated he had hit his wife. As deputies were going to the scene, dispatch advised the man was seen pulling the victim by the hair down the stairs from the residence.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, who was downstairs and the suspect, who was standing on his balcony yelling. The woman confirmed she lived in the residence and gave the deputy permission to enter the apartment.
The deputy observed the front door had been kicked completely off the hinges and was on the ground in the living room. The suspect was detained on the balcony.
Deputies learned the woman had told the suspect earlier in the day that their marriage was over and that he had been at a friend’s house drinking. She stated that as she was driving in her vehicle and stopped at a stop light near Walmart, her husband got into her car without her asking him to, the arrest report states.
The victim told the investigating deputy she began to drive to their home and that the man had slapped her in the face with an open hand. She said she was pushed down stairs and that the suspect slammed her head into the concrete, the arrest report states.
She said went to the apartment and the man kicked the door down, where he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her. The victim had multiple scrapes and marks on her hips and back consistent with being dragged, the arrest report states.
Deputies spoke with the suspect, who said he had been drinking alcohol with a friend, and confirmed he saw his wife driving near Walmart. He stated the car window was down so he unlocked the door and sat in the passenger seat. He denied any physical altercation while in the vehicle.
He stated once at the residence he knew the woman wouldn’t let him inside so he kicked the door in. He further stated the woman punched him in the mouth and so he head butted her, the arrest report states.
He denied ever dragging or hitting the victim at any point. He stated after he head butted his wife, she walked down the stairs and he went inside the residence, the arrest report states. The man had a scratch on the bridge of his nose and a cut on the right side of his mouth. He was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 5:02 p.m. in the 3900 block of South Carson Street for a misdemeanor petit larceny warrant. Bail: $500.
