Carson City arrests: Man jailed for suspicion of domestic battery
A 57-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy report.
According to the arrest report, CCSO deputies were called to a Heaven Hill Way residence at 11:40 a.m. regarding a report of a possible domestic battery.
Deputies met with the suspect who was outside the residence, who said he was living there with his ex-wife. He said she had removed money from their joint bank account on March 26 and they were arguing about it, according to the arrest report.
The suspect told the officer he decided to pack up some of his belongings and leave the residence. He said the woman asked him to return a key to the residence. He said that she reached for the key ring that was attached to the belt loop of his pants. He said the woman pushed him face down onto her bed and that he pushed her away and attempted to keep her away using his arms.
The woman stated the same event, however, she said when she asked him for the key, the suspect refused.
She said she attempted to grab it and stated he spun around on her and caused her to fall backward where she struck her head on a bedpost. She said the man then grabbed her left wrist and pressed his forearm against her neck and held her down on the bed, according to the arrest report. The woman said she had pain to the left side of her neck. Reddening was observed and photographed by a deputy.
The man was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
