Carson City woman turns herself in on felony warrant charge of credit card fraud

A 32-year-old home care worker turned herself into the Carson City Sheriff's Office early Tuesday on a felony warrant for her arrest.

Amy Lynne Wolf of Carson City was taken into custody at 1 a.m. on March 25. A warrant was issued Feb. 27, 2014 on a charge of suspicion of fraudulent use of a credit card. A $5,000 bondable was set and she was released from jail on that bond.

In other arrests: A man jailed Sunday on felony drug and fugitive charges had an additional misdemeanor charge added Tuesday after he failed to appear in a Carson City courtroom in May 2007 on a traffic citation.

Abram Louis Sassenberg, 33, of Pollock Pines, was in jail at the time when Carson City Dispatch alerted staff of the outstanding warrant.

Sassenberg was stopped Sunday while driving a vehicle with a suspended registration. When the officer asked the man for a license which he said he didn't have it with him and stated he didn't have any identification with him. He told the officer his name was Benjamin. When asked for his Social Security number the man said he didn't know it. When the name was run through dispatch it came back that the person had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest in Wells, Nev.

When Sassenberg was asked what was going on when he was told to exit the vehicle, the officer said that the person's information he proved had a warrant for his arrest. The deputy then asked about the man's real identify in which he gave to the officer. The identity came back with Sassenberg being wanted as a fugitive from justice in Placer County, Calif. He also did not have a valid driver's license, the arrest report states.

During a search of the vehicle officers found several items of drugs and paraphernalia, including a glass vial in the glove box with methamphetamine in it, as well as a baggie with meth and a digital scale, the arrest report states.
A female companion was also arrested on a felony drug charge.

Sassenberg was arrested without bail based on the fugitive from justice charge. He also faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended registration and driving without a valid license.

— Two men were arrested March 24, 5:45 p.m. at East Fifth Street and Allouette Way. A 44-year-old man faces gross misdemeanor charge of battery on an officer after he after he kicked a deputy in the head several times while in a hospital emergency room he was taken to due to injuries from a fight he had with a 31-year-old man.
According to the arrest report the man had become combative, kicking, yelling and attempting to get off the hospital bed of the emergency room. The deputy attempted to restrain the man and was kicked in the head by the man wearing boots. The battery was witnessed by a hospital technician.

Another deputy at the hospital made contact with the man who told him: "f*** you cops," "f*** these doctors" and "I have been arrested 23 times and this ain't s**t," according to the arrest report.

Charges for the 44-year-old man are disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor and battery on a police officer, a gross misdemeanor. Bail: $2,742.

The 31-year-old man arrested in the fight, which was over allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor, was booked on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. Bail: $242.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 11:52 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant issued Feb. 14, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $215.

— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail March 24 on a contempt of court warrant issued Feb. 25, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 27-year-old man was arrested March 23, 1:42 p.m. on a contempt of court warrant. The arrest was made in the 800 block of North Carson Street. The warrant was issued March 11, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man as arrested March 23, 1:40 p.m. at Stewart and 8th streets on a failure to appear traffic warrant issued March 13, 2014. Bail: $215.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
