NHP traffic stop leads to DUI arrest, seizure of 14 pounds of marijuana
A trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol in the Fallon area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle March 14 for traveling over the posted speed limit. The trooper observed signs of impairment while speaking with the driver and began an investigation.
The driver was ultimately placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
During the course of the investigation, troopers located 14 pounds of marijuana and an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Troopers also discovered a semi-automatic pistol that had been reported as missing out of Arizona.
The driver, a 19-year-old female and the passenger, a 20-year-old male, were arrested on related charges. Additional charges are pending through the Churchill County District Attorney’s Office.
