— Silver Plate Cooking Class: Skinny Shepherd’s Pie for St. Patrick’s Day hosted by Renown. This event is part of Renown’s Sterling Silver Club, a free program offered for men and women ages 55 and over.
Join the Silver Plate Cooking Class for a healthier take on a holiday favorite — Shepherd’s Pie!
This Skinny Shepherd’s Pie recipe features potatoes as a creamy topping to a classic comforting dish. Of course, shepherd’s pie began humbly, as a way to avoid wasting meat and vegetables. In the 18th century it was known as ‘cottage pie’ when using beef as the meat and ‘shepherd’s pie’ when using lamb. Today, it’s a delicious dish to warm you up on a chilly evening, and keeps well in the fridge as leftovers for about 3-5 days.
