Carson City sheriff's weekend arrest log

The following arrests were made Friday through early Sunday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in court.

A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:18 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Fall Street on suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the victim told officers she was slapped, pushed and hit by her husband and that she grabbed a kitchen knife to defend herself.
The husband said he pushed his wife and didn’t want to say anything else. Bail: $3,137.

— A 58-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was arrested Saturday, 9:27 p.m. in the area of South Carson Street and 10th on misdemeanor charges of driving without a valid driver’s license and a warrant issued Dec. 10, 2013 out of East Fork Township court. According to the arrest report, the vehicle was stopped because it didn’t have a working brake light. Bail: $692.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 6:28 p.m. in the area of Monte Rosa Drive and Woodside on three misdemeanor charges: driving without a valid license, no vehicle insurance and expired registration. According to the arrest report, officers stopped the vehicle because the registration on the plates had expired January 2014. Bail: $1,041.

— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:07 p.m. on suspicion of DUI, stop lamps required and failing to stop at a stop sign. Officers made a traffic stop when the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign, continuing to go around 5 mph. When the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Fifth and Curry, the officer observed it had an inoperable stop lamp on the passenger side of the vehicle.
The man was asked if he had been drinking and the man said he had a glass of wine earlier. He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and was unable to complete the tests satisfactorily. He submitted to a breath test with a .102. Bail: $1,321.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man, Mark Edmund Howell, was arrested Saturday, 5:24 p.m. in the 1100 block of East William Street on a felony parole and probation violation.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:29 p.m. in the area of East Nye Lane and Northgate on misdemeanor charges, failure to appear warrant, and driving on a suspended or revoked license. Bail: $812.

— A 57-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 5:50 p.m. in the 1700 block of Wendy Lane on suspicion of criminal contempt while on court supervision and disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, officers responded to a report of an intoxicated woman yelling obscenities at no one in particular and rolling in the dirt at the location. Due to her intoxication she was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and then booked into jail later on the charges. Bail: $702.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:22 a.m. in the 2000 block of Lone Mountain Drive on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer. Bail: $250.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrest Saturday, 12:26 a.m. in the area of Arrowhead and Emerson on a misdemeanor charge of violation of a stalking order and violation of conditions. $4,137.

— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 2:29 a.m. in the area of Como and Saliman on a misdemeanor warrant, embezzlement, issued Feb. 17, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 32-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was arrested Friday, 8:42 a.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street for petit larceny and a misdemeanor warrant issued Jan. 17, 2013 out of Douglas County Justice Court. $904.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 9:15 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a parole and probation violation. The man was drinking at a casino in which there was a court order forbidding him to do so. No bail holding pending a hearing with parole and probation. Another man with him, also 27, of Gardnerville, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Douglas County and dated Feb. 10, 2015. Bail: $1,000.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 8:31 p.m. in the area of Fairview and Walker on misdemeanor warrant charges of failure to appear, issued April 22, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court and failure to appear issued Sept. 22, 2014 out of Dayton Township Court. Bail: $2,000.

— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 8:11 a.m. in the 1900 block of Molly Drive on a misdemeanor failure to comply warrant issued Oct. 20, 2014 out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $445.

— A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 10:11 a.m. in the 2500 block of Concord Drive on a misdemeanor arrest warrant, violation of a suspended sentence involving drug use, issued March 6, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Communications Division received a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and possible abduction at gunpoint occurring in the 8500 block of Santa Fe trail in Stagecoach.

August tours at the Nevada State Prison in Carson City are filling up for the summer, and tours are opening soon for the fall.

The Levitt AMP Carson City outdoor concert series continues Saturday with Urban Renewal Project, a 16-piece collective that combines elements of jazz, hiphop and vintage soul that will bring genre-bending music to the Connections Central stage at the Brewery Arts Center.
