Carson City area casinos see nearly 10.6 percent revenue increase in January
Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley saw a 10.57 percent increase in "win" revenue for the month of January, the Nevada Gaming Control Board reports this morning.
The Carson City region, which includes Gardnerville and Minden, took in revenues of just over $8 million, up from $7,016,253 from January 2010.
Casinos at South Shore Lake Tahoe saw a 7.85 percent decline in gaming "winnings" over January 2010. North Tahoe had an increase gaming win of slightly over 1 percent.
Statewide, casinos saw a 0.67 percent decrease over January 2010 revenue figures. Casinos took in a total win of $877,412,366 for the first month of the year. For the fiscal year, gaming win has increased 1.18 percent.
Regionally, the biggest gaming "win" in the state was Elko County which saw a 14.20 percent increase over January 2010 (apart from Wendover) , with North Las Vegas coming in with a 13.22 percent increase. The balance of Washoe County apart from Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe saw the the steepest decrease in "winnings" with a 7.91 percent drop.
The state collected $68,758,854 in percentage fees during the month of February 2011, based upon the taxable revenues generated in January 2011. This represents a 15.26 percent (or $9,104,361) increase
compared to the prior year’s February, when percentage fee collections were $59,654,493.
