Woman jailed for giving officers a fake name to avoid arrest

A 44-year-old Chester, Calif., woman was arrested and faces a felony charge of giving Carson City officers false identification to avoid prosecution after being stopped in a vehicle in which the driver was seen throwing something out the window.

Patricia Michelle Scott, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested March 6 after the vehicle she was in was stopped near the southbound on ramp of I-580 at 5:11 p.m.

Her bail was set at $18,737. The driver of the vehicle faces misdemeanor charges of driving with a revoked license because of DUI, having a fictitious vehicle registration and littering.
