Friday artist reception postponed at Carson City Art Gallery
Friday's inclement weather has caused William Smith's artist reception at the Carson City Art Gallery to be postponed until next Friday, March 9 from 4-7 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you all then.
William Smith discovered his natural abilities as a teen in rural Wyoming and continued developing his skills throughout high school and college.
After serving our country, he attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA for two years and deciding he didn’t have the temperament or discipline required for a successful career in commercial art, William went into Law Enforcement and was a guest cartoonist at the Daily Republic newspaper.
Now that he is retired, William spends a great deal of time creating diverse art from oils, acrylic abstracts, pencil and watercolor.
His painting, the Jazz Player, was selected for use as the poster Carson City’s 2017 Jazz and Beyond festival. He’s living the dream in Northern Nevada.
Please join us as we celebrate him and his art on Friday, March 9 from 4-7 p.m.
William's work will be on display throughout the month of March.
Carson City Art Gallery is located at 110 S. Curry Street at the corner of Second. For more information, please contact us at: carsoncityart@yahoo.com, or 775-313-8628.
